More than 3200 square metres have been added to the University of Debrecen's Faculty of Technology building complex on the Ótemető Street campus. The new, two-storey facility primarily houses teaching units, laboratories, student community spaces and offices. Balázs Hankó, the Minister of Culture and Innovation, called the University of Debrecen an outstanding example of renewed Hungarian higher education at the inauguration ceremony on Friday.

An exhibition of models and photographs focusing on the modern architecture of Brno between the two world wars has been opened at the community space known as Szárító műhely (Drying House) of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Debrecen, on the street called Szombathi István utca. The exhibition will be open to the public until April 8.

Our students majoring in mechanical engineering at the University of Debrecen can now acquire the most up-to-date knowledge in the new Krones Hungary Géptervező Laboratórium [Krones Hungary Machine Design Laboratory], which has been established as a result of the cooperation between the Faculty of Engineering and the company Krones Hungary Kft. The University of Debrecen was one of the professional partners of the two-day AI Transformation Conference organized by Corvinus University of Budapest and the Shenzhen Research Institute of the University of Hong Kong, China, where leading scientists from around the world discussed scientific opportunities offered by artificial intelligence.
The Department of Architecture of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen (DE MK) also participated in a prestigious international conference of renowned architects and architecture students in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. During the four-day event, 15 students from DE MK created an installation related to the theme of the event.

Three faculties, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Informatics and the Faculty of Humanities, of the University of Debrecen were represented at a conference called CogInfoCom (Cognitive infocommunications) at Chuo University, Japan, which was attended by academics from universities located on several continents. This event primarily focused on the potential of merging human and digital environments, artificial intelligence, info-communication and cognitive skills.
The faculty and students of the University of Debrecen's Faculty of Engineering recently visited CERN, the world's largest particle physics laboratory. Members of the delegation were not only introduced to the latest results in physics, but also discussed long-term research cooperation between the faculty and the organisation running the facility.
The KAIZEN™ Award was presented for the first time in Hungary at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Debrecen (DE MK). The award was given to companies that operate according to the Japanese philosophy of continuous improvement. This useful approach is also taught as a subject at the Faculty of Technology's Department of Management and Entrepreneurship.
